Hollywood Spectra is the leading Nd:YAG Q-switch laser on the market, utilizing the latest safe, short-pulse laser technology. Its ultra-short pulses minimize skin damage during the procedure, allowing precise and safe treatment of the skin.
What is the Treatment?
In laser tattoo removal, the laser beam targets the pigment in the skin, breaking it down into smaller particles, which are then removed by the body’s metabolism. Tattoo pigment is gradually eliminated from the treated area over the following three months. The removal process typically requires multiple sessions, depending on the size, color, and depth of the tattoo in the skin. With Hollywood Spectra, we can remove tattoos from any healthy skin area, including the face, body, and even mucous membranes, such as lip tattoos.
Treatment Process and Consultation
The treatment process always begins with a nurse consultation to assess your individual situation. This consultation can be conducted at the clinic as a separate appointment, during the treatment session, via video call, or through photo consultation by email. Based on this, we provide a price estimate and a general idea of the number of sessions required.
What Results Can Be Achieved?
Complete tattoo removal typically requires an average of 5-10 sessions, with 2-3 months between treatments. Hollywood Spectra allows for the complete removal of tattoos. Tattoo removal is always an individualized process, so the exact number of sessions cannot be determined before starting treatment. Factors influencing the removal process and the speed of fading include the binding agents in the tattoo ink, the depth of the pigment in the skin, scarring in or beneath the tattoo, the tattoo’s age, size, location, as well as the client’s metabolism, skin condition, and skincare habits.
Fractional Treatment
Hollywood Spectra is the first laser that also enables fractional treatment of the area during tattoo removal. This enhances the effectiveness of the treatment process, accelerates recovery, improves skin texture, evens out any color irregularities, and addresses potential scarring beneath the tattoo ink. Fractional laser treatment is always included in our services.
Cover-up Tattoo and Partial Removal
Tattoos can also be lightened in preparation for a cover-up or correction. It is also possible to remove only a specific part of the tattoo with precision. The lightening process follows the same principles as regular removal but generally requires fewer sessions, typically one to three. If planning a cover-up tattoo, it is recommended to wait about three months after the last laser session to ensure the new tattoo does not fade due to ongoing subdermal processes.
Are There Any Restrictions for the Treatment?
This treatment is not performed on pregnant or breastfeeding individuals. For clients under 18, parental consent is required. The tattoo must be at least 6-8 weeks old to allow the ink to settle in the skin layers. Chronic illnesses must be well-managed. Treatment cannot be performed if the treatment area has keloid scarring, active herpes simplex, skin inflammation such as acne, open wounds or injuries, ongoing cancer treatments, warts, bacterial or fungal infections, actinic keratosis, hemophilia, scleroderma, or if you are using photosensitizing medications such as isotretinoin. If you have questions about whether this treatment is suitable for you, please contact Klinik Linnea’s staff directly.
Recovery Time
After the laser procedure, the skin surface is disrupted, and typical post-treatment reactions include tenderness, swelling, and redness in the treated area. The area may initially ooze fluid. Symptoms vary by individual but generally subside within 1-2 weeks. Recovery time may be prolonged by factors such as poor skin condition, older age, underlying health conditions, medications, and lifestyle habits like smoking.
Maintaining Results
Once the tattoo pigment has been removed, the result is permanent and does not require maintenance treatments.
