pHformula Resurfacing Treatment

Coating treatment refers to a controlled and gradual chemical renewal of the skin, using specific acids and active compounds to stimulate skin regeneration. In pHformula treatments, the skin is renewed gently and in a controlled manner while preserving the skin’s protective layer.

pHformula is a pharmacocosmetic skincare line, with innovative resurfacing processes that regenerate the skin and correct its functional disorders. pHformula’s success is based on its excellent results in a safe, skin-function-enhancing, and well-tolerated method. The treatment methods of the line are based on skin-renewing medical technology, creating controlled, chemical skin resurfacing concepts.

The resurfacing process creates a fresh, functional, healthy outer layer on the skin. Unlike traditional exfoliating treatments, which often lead to initial skin sensitivity, controlled resurfaces actively stimulate cell renewal in different layers of the skin. This occurs without irritation or trauma to the skin’s surface, making the treatment gentler but highly effective.

pHformula has designed resurfacing products to address the most common skin concerns:

  • CR: For chronic redness, inflammation, couperose, and rosacea-prone, sensitive, and reactive skin. Selected antimicrobial active ingredients effectively strengthen the skin, normalize microcirculation, reduce and prevent inflammation, and prevent recurrence of the condition.
  • AC: For acne and impure, oily skin. The solution has anti-inflammatory and preventive properties, as well as a strong purifying and exfoliating effect that helps balance problematic skin. It effectively prevents the spread of bacteria on acne-prone skin.
  • AGE: For aging skin and associated changes such as dullness, yellowish tone, fine lines, photoaging (sun damage), pigmentation changes, blackheads, telangiectasia, keratosis, and unhealthy stratum corneum condition.
  • MELA: For hyperpigmentation, such as melasma, chloasma, and pigmentation caused by UV radiation. It is also suitable for superficial melanin disorders, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH/PIE), and sun-induced blackheads and freckles. In addition, MELA provides an effective anti-aging effect.
  • MD TCA Touch: An intensive skin stimulation treatment performed by a healthcare professional for aging, pigmented, or scarred skin. Skin stimulation renews skin cells, lifts the skin immediately, and improves its smoothness and brightness. A combination of pure 30% trichloroacetic acid, arbutin, and magnesium, along with pHformula’s patented delivery system, provides maximum results.

Resurfacing treatments of 60 and 90 minutes consist of one selected resurfacing for the skin type, along with two or three customization options. These components allow us to tailor the treatment to meet the individual needs of the skin.

What results can be expected?

pHformula’s chemical resurfacing treatments are always customized to meet the current needs of your skin. Resurfacing treatments provide immediate brightness, evenness, and vitality to the skin. Chemical exfoliations also enhance the effectiveness and absorption of your home care products.

pHformula’s resurfacing treatments provide visible results for issues such as:

  • Rosacea, couperose, redness
  • Acne, inflamed skin, impurities
  • Sensitive, weak skin
  • Aging changes, wrinkles, fine lines
  • Dullness, lifelessness, roughness
  • Pigmentation changes, uneven skin tone
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding skin care

Are there any restrictions for the treatment?

The treatment is not recommended for pregnant women. Underlying health conditions must be well-controlled. The treatment cannot be performed if there is active herpes simplex, open wounds or skin damage, skin cancer (treatments ongoing), warts, bacterial or fungal infections, actinic keratosis, hemophilia, scleroderma, or if you are using light-sensitive medications such as isotretinoin. If you have questions about the suitability of the treatment for you, you can contact Klinik Linnea’s staff directly.

Recovery time

Resurfacing treatments can be performed at varying intensities depending on the skin’s strength, the client’s schedule, and tolerance to reactions. The mildest treatments do not require recovery time, but stronger treatments may result in redness, tightness, and peeling for a few days to a week after the treatment. Please inform us before the treatment if you have any important events coming up so we can consider them when planning the treatment.

Maintaining results

For treating skin disorders, we recommend a series of 3-6 treatments, with intervals of 2-4 weeks. Maintenance treatments can be performed as needed, as part of another treatment plan. A more detailed treatment plan will be created with a professional during your visit. We can combine resurfacing treatments with other treatment methods, such as microneedling or device-based treatments, during the same session.

Klinik Linnea recommends a medical skincare program designed for your skin to maintain results, and SPF50 sunscreen year-round, regardless of the season.

How should I prepare for the treatment?

No special preparation is required for the treatment.

What is included in the treatment?

The treatment includes an initial consultation, skin cleansing, pHformula coating treatment, aftercare creams, aftercare instructions, and a relaxing and restorative moment at Klinik Linnea.

How long does the treatment take?

The treatment typically lasts about 60-90 minutes.

Is there pain during the treatment?

There is no pain. During the treatment, you may feel tingling, pricking, and warmth on your skin. These are normal and brief sensations.

What are the most common reactions after the treatment?

There may be slight redness and tightness immediately after the treatment. Occasionally, swelling may occur. Skin dryness, peeling, and flaking may also occur a few days after the treatment, and these should not be peeled off. Symptoms generally disappear within a few hours to a week, depending on the intensity of the treatment and the overall condition of the skin. Proper home care speeds up recovery.

What are the aftercare instructions for the treatment?

We will go over the aftercare instructions during the treatment. On the treatment day, avoid touching the treated area and take extra care with its hygiene. Change to a clean face towel and pillowcase. You may apply makeup the next day. We recommend avoiding intense physical activity for 24 hours and sauna use for 1-3 days after the treatment. It is important to protect the skin from the sun. Klinik Linnea recommends using SPF50 sun protection year-round. If you have any questions about recovery, please contact the professional who treated you.
