The expression may appear tired, sad, or angry, even though you may feel energetic and happy. The key factors in reducing age-related changes and smoothing out lines are adding volume and lifting the features. With Radiesse, you can make your face look as youthful as you feel on the inside.
Radiesse is one of the most popular dermal fillers on the market. It is used worldwide and has been available for over 10 years. Extensive research and clinical experience ensure that it is a safe product, delivering long-lasting, natural results. Patient satisfaction with Radiesse treatments is high: 90% are satisfied with the results. Its effectiveness has been proven in numerous scientific studies. Radiesse received FDA and CE approval as a product for plastic and reconstructive surgery in 2006.
What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is a next-generation dermal filler and biostimulator that has grown in popularity year after year. Its innovative technology and unique formulation restore volume to the skin and stimulate the skin’s own collagen production. It works in three ways to prevent and treat age-related changes: lifting features, rejuvenating the skin, and addressing wrinkles and fine lines.
The active ingredient in Radiesse is calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA), composed of calcium microparticles. The lifting effect is visible immediately, and the changes in skin function are long-lasting: Radiesse stimulates the dermal connective tissue cells, increasing collagen production for months, making the skin stronger and more elastic. Over time, the gel in the product is absorbed, and the calcium microparticles break down in the body’s metabolism, leaving behind only the fresh collagen produced by the skin itself—resulting in a soft, natural appearance to the face.
What results can be expected?
The treatment restores a beautiful, natural, youthful appearance to the skin. Its results are excellent in facial contouring, improving overall skin quality, and smoothing fine lines. Radiesse’s unique formulation enhances the skin’s natural collagen production and firms up sagging skin. The skin looks visibly fresher and firmer.
Indications for Radiesse use include:
- Restoring lost volume and adding fullness
- Softening nasolabial and marionette lines
- Defining and shaping the jawline
- Sculpting the mid-face and adding lift to the features
- Firming sagging skin, including the hands and body
- Preventing and treating age-related changes in the neck and décolletage

How should I prepare for the treatment?
We recommend eating before the treatment and arriving without makeup. Due to an increased risk of bruising and bleeding, we do not recommend anti-inflammatory medications (e.g., Burana) for three days before the treatment, or natural supplements (e.g., Omega-3 supplements, Vitamin E) for a week before the treatment. If you need pain relief, we recommend using Paracetamol. We will send you an electronic pre-treatment form prior to your appointment, please fill the form out before arriving for the treatment.

How long does the treatment take?
The treatment takes about 60 minutes.
Is there pain during the treatment?
During the treatment, you may feel slight discomfort or no pain at all. We use lidocaine (a numbing agent) in Radiesse’s dilution (also available without it). If necessary, we can apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area. Keeping the treatment area cold during the procedure also helps alleviate sensations.
What are the most typical reactions after the treatment?
Recovery from the treatment is quick, so it does not require a long recovery time. However, with injection treatments, you should expect some mild tenderness, swelling, light redness, and possible bruising for a few days.
What are the aftercare instructions?
Detailed aftercare instructions will be discussed during the treatment. On the day of the treatment, avoid touching the treated area and pay extra attention to the hygiene of the area. For the next two days, avoid intense physical exertion, sauna, sweating, and direct UV exposure. We also recommend avoiding other facial treatments, facial massage, and procedures around the mouth and face for 2 weeks after the treatment. Cosmetics should not be applied to the treated area during the first 24 hours to avoid infection risk. Klinik Linnea recommends using SPF50 sunscreen year-round.
