What does the much-talked-about Rejuran treatment feel like, and what kind of results can you expect? A Gloria journalist visited Klinik Linnea to experience the polynucleotide treatment with Nurse Anna.
In recent years, Rejuran has become one of the most talked-about treatments for supporting skin renewal. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Rejuran is a biostimulatory treatment designed to support the skin’s natural renewal processes. Its active ingredient is polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA. The aim of Rejuran is to improve the skin’s structure, elasticity and moisture balance, while supporting the skin’s natural repair processes.
Gloria journalist Siina Leppä also wanted to find out what the treatment experience is actually like.
Starting with a consultation
Before the treatment, the condition of the skin and the treatment process were carefully assessed so that the treatment could be tailored to the individual needs of the skin.
During a Rejuran treatment, polynucleotides are injected into the skin through a series of small injections. The aim is not to alter the facial features or add volume to the skin, but rather to improve overall skin quality from within. Polynucleotides support the skin’s renewal processes and collagen production, while helping to strengthen the skin’s structure and protective barrier.
What does Rejuran feel like?
Rejuran is performed using multiple small injections, so some mild stinging and temporary discomfort may be experienced during the treatment.
Immediately after the treatment, the skin may appear red, and small bumps can be visible at the injection sites. This is a typical immediate reaction and usually settles after the treatment. In the journalist’s experience, the injection sites were already significantly less noticeable the following day.
With Rejuran, patience is key. It is not a treatment designed to produce an immediate, visibly transformative result. Instead, its effects develop gradually through the skin’s own natural renewal processes.
The first changes appear gradually
In the journalist’s experience, changes in the skin were noticed particularly in its radiance and overall appearance following the treatment. However, the final effects of Rejuran should not be assessed immediately after the treatment.
The aim of the treatment is to improve skin quality over time: the skin may feel stronger and more elastic, its moisture balance can improve, and its texture may appear more even. At Klinik Linnea, Rejuran is particularly used when the goal is to build healthier, stronger and more revitalised skin without a volumising effect.
Who is Rejuran suitable for?
Rejuran can be an excellent option for ageing, sensitive or damaged skin, as well as when the aim is to improve the skin’s elasticity, structure, moisture balance or overall quality. The treatment may also be suitable for skin affected by redness or scarring. The suitability of the treatment is always assessed individually.
