Filler treatment is an effective solution when the issue is related to tissue structure or volume loss. With light tear trough shaping, we can restore youthful fullness, soften shadows, smooth out lines, and create a more even, light-reflective structure—resulting in a refreshed, youthful, and vibrant look.
Before tear trough filler treatment, it is important to consider the influence of other tissue areas, especially the mid-face, on the structure under the eyes. Age-related tissue changes cause a droop in the cheekbones, which in turn causes the under-eye area to lose support—this further accentuates the challenges in the eye area. In such cases, a combination treatment of the mid-face and tear troughs often provides the best result. Tear trough filler treatment is not an ideal solution for individuals who easily accumulate fluid in the eye area. During the initial consultation, we assess the required treatment plan to achieve the best overall results.

Frequently Asked Questions
How should I prepare for the treatment?
We recommend eating before your treatment and arriving without makeup. Due to the increased risk of bruising and bleeding, we do not recommend anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., Ibuprofen) for three days before the treatment, and natural supplements (e.g., Omega-3, Vitamin E) for one week before. If you need pain relief, we suggest using paracetamol. We will send you an electronic health questionnaire prior to your appointment; please fill this out before arriving for your treatment.
What does the treatment include?
The treatment includes a consultation for the Sculptra injection, skin cleansing, the procedure itself, aftercare cream, aftercare instructions.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment lasts approximately 60 minutes.
Is the treatment painful?
There is no pain or only mild discomfort. We use dermal fillers that contain lidocaine (an anesthetic), which helps to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. If necessary, we can apply a numbing cream to the treatment area. Keeping the treatment area cool during the procedure also helps to alleviate any sensations.
What are the typical post-treatment reactions?
Healing time from the treatment is relatively quick, so there is no need for a long recovery time. However, with injection treatments, it is always good to be prepared for possible tenderness in the treated area, swelling, light redness, and potential bruising for a few days.
What are the aftercare instructions?
We will go through detailed aftercare instructions during your treatment. On the day of the treatment, avoid touching the treated area and make sure to maintain good hygiene. Do not apply makeup to the treated area during the first 24 hours due to the infection risk. For the next 24 hours, avoid strenuous physical activity, sauna, excessive sweating, and direct UV exposure. We also recommend avoiding other facial treatments, dental and facial area procedures for 2 weeks after your treatment. If you have any questions about your recovery, please contact the professional who performed your treatment.
