In our treatments, we always consider the proportions, symmetry, and balance of your face. At Klinik Linnea, we only use high-quality, FDA-approved dermal fillers. We use the leading aesthetic filler brands, Juvéderm and Restylane. The decades of product development, extensive research, and international popularity of both filler lines ensure the quality and safety of the products for our clients.
It is natural for lips to change with age. As we age, the fullness of the lips decreases, they become drier, and over time, small wrinkles can form around the mouth. With lip filler treatments, we can add fullness, symmetry, moisture, and definition exactly where you want it.
What is the treatment?
With lip filler treatments, we can correct natural lip asymmetry, create beautiful fullness, emphasize and refine the shape of your lips, and lift downward corners of the mouth. If there are small vertical wrinkles above the upper lip due to aging, we can also smooth them out.
What results can be achieved with lip filler treatment?
At Klinik Linnea, we emphasize your individuality in lip filler treatments. The basis of our treatments is always the natural shapes, lines, and features of your face, so you can achieve the result you desire. We focus on stylish, natural, and safe outcomes. During the consultation, we will also discuss the results that can be achieved with fillers.
Are there any restrictions for the treatment?
Dermal filler treatments are not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding. At Klinik Linnea, the minimum age for filler treatments is 18. Contraindications for filler treatments include active herpes, an inflammatory condition in the treatment area, excessive scar tissue, porphyria, permanent fillers in the treatment area, skin diseases, open wounds/skin damage in the treatment area, skin cancer, warts, bacterial/fungal infections, and frostbite or burned skin. The treatment is also not performed if there is an active oral infection.
Pre-existing medical conditions and medications must be in a stable state. Any medication affecting blood clotting should be disclosed to the treating nurse or doctor. Klinik Linnea does not recommend a dental visit for two weeks before or after filler treatments if the treatment is performed on the lips or around the mouth area (due to increased infection risk, filler settling, and recovery). If you have any questions about whether this treatment is suitable for you, please contact the staff at Klinik Linnea directly.
Healing time
We use a cannula or a fine needle to perform injections, which results in a relatively short recovery time. Most of our clients return to work and continue their normal activities right after the treatment. Some clients may experience normal side effects at the injection site, such as swelling, tenderness, or bruising. These reactions typically disappear within a couple of days, and we always recommend being prepared for them when considering the timing of your treatment.
Maintenance of results
The results of the treatment last 6-12 months. The duration depends on the product used and how quickly your body breaks down the filler. The treating nurse or doctor will provide you with instructions on how to maintain your results. Klinik Linnea recommends a tailored ZO Skin Health or AlumierMD skincare program for at-home care, as well as using at least SPF30 sunscreen year-round to maintain your results.
Frequently Asked Questions
How should I prepare for the treatment?
We recommend eating before your treatment and arriving without makeup. Due to the increased risk of bruising and bleeding, we do not recommend anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., Ibuprofen) for three days before the treatment, and natural supplements (e.g., Omega-3, Vitamin E) for one week before. If you need pain relief, we suggest using paracetamol. We will send you an electronic health questionnaire prior to your appointment; please fill this out before arriving for your treatment.
What does the treatment include?
The treatment includes a consultation for the Sculptra injection, skin cleansing, the procedure itself, aftercare cream, aftercare instructions.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment lasts approximately 60 minutes.
Is the treatment painful?
There is no pain or only mild discomfort. We use dermal fillers that contain lidocaine (an anesthetic), which helps to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. If necessary, we can apply a numbing cream to the treatment area. Keeping the treatment area cool during the procedure also helps to alleviate any sensations.
What are the typical post-treatment reactions?
Healing time from the treatment is relatively quick, so there is no need for a long recovery time. However, with injection treatments, it is always good to be prepared for possible tenderness in the treated area, swelling, light redness, and potential bruising for a few days.
What are the aftercare instructions?
We will go through detailed aftercare instructions during your treatment. On the day of the treatment, avoid touching the treated area and make sure to maintain good hygiene. Do not apply makeup to the treated area during the first 24 hours due to the infection risk. For the next 24 hours, avoid strenuous physical activity, sauna, excessive sweating, and direct UV exposure. We also recommend avoiding other facial treatments, dental and facial area procedures for 2 weeks after your treatment. If you have any questions about your recovery, please contact the professional who performed your treatment.
