I am Dr. Veera Pitkänen, Specialist in Plastic Surgery and Doctor of Medicine. My primary position is at HUS Plastic Surgery, where I mainly treat congenital facial deformities as well as a wide variety of other plastic surgery patients. My doctoral dissertation focused on cleft surgery, and I continue to be actively involved in research within the field of plastic surgery.

I truly feel I’m in my dream profession. I chose to specialize in plastic surgery because it is the most versatile branch of surgery — every treatment is based on individuality, and the work itself is genuine craftsmanship: a combination of science and art. I am particularly interested in facial surgery and the treatment of age-related changes. I especially enjoy performing upper and lower eyelid surgeries as well as lip reshaping procedures. As a surgeon, I am precise and detail-oriented, carefully planning each procedure according to the patient’s individual features and facial proportions.

In addition to surgical expertise, I have years of experience in both injectable and device-based aesthetic treatments. Alongside botulinum toxin procedures, I also perform more extensive facial volume treatments using fillers and fat transfer.

In my work, I always listen to the patient’s wishes and aim to find the most effective solution to their concerns by combining surgical and non-surgical treatment options while optimizing recovery time. My philosophy is that aging should and can be visible — but small, well-considered adjustments can refresh the face, often improving both self-confidence and quality of life. I consider skincare an essential part of facial aesthetics, and I work closely with Klinik Linnea’s skilled nurses.
